Mary Broussard
Mary Broussard is an acoustic singer-songwriter from Scott, Louisiana, who grew up surrounded by music in a family deeply rooted in musical traditions. Influenced by country legends like Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn, as well as folk icons Joan Baez and Janis Ian, Mary developed a passion for music at a young age. She began playing guitar in her room at age 14 and has since written over 150 original songs. Over the years, she has performed with a variety of locally and nationally acclaimed artists and has received numerous accolades for her music and songwriting.
From 2021 to 2023, Mary consistently placed in the top three at the Ozone Songwriter Festival song contest in Mandeville, LA, taking home first place in 2023. In May 2024, she won the People’s Choice Award in the Al Johnson Performing Songwriter Contest at the Wildflower Arts & Music Festival in Richardson, Texas.
Today, Mary continues to earn praise for her unique style and thoughtful lyricism, writing across a range of genres including folk, country, blues, and jazz.
